Here at Primary Eyecare and Optical of Meridian we want to be your family's trusted resource for everyday eye care needs, from providing necessary preventative care and treatment to helping you pick out just the right frame for your new glasses. Our optometrists in Meridian (Dr. Duong or Dr. Dooley) offer a comprehensive menu of services.
Eye Exam - An annual eye exam at our clinic involves the latest diagnostic techniques and technologies. While pupil dilation is still indicated for pediatric and diabetic retinal exams, in other cases we use Daytona Optomap technology for dilation-free wide-field retinal evaluation. Our Marco OPD machine permits detailed corneal/refractive analysis, while ocular coherence tomography (OCT) and other measuring devices check for signs of glaucoma or macular degeneration.
Eye Disease Treatment - Your optometrist in Meridian can treat many eye diseases and other conditions right here at the clinic. These issues include glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, eye infections, foreign objects, seasonal allergies, dry eye treatment and computer vision. Treatment methods at our eye care clinic may include immediate measures to relieve discomfort; antibiotics, eye drops and other forms of oral or topical eye care; tinted lenses to relieve glare, and home-based dry eye treatment suggestions.
Vision Testing - Vision testing allows us to determine whether you suffer from any refractive errors that cause you to experience blurred or distorted vision. Based on the results of these tests, we can create an accurate prescription for corrective lenses or (referred) laser eye surgery. Glasses wearers will enjoy browsing our wide in-store selection of beautiful frames.
Contact Lens Exams - If you want to correct your vision with contact lenses instead of (or in rotation with) eyeglasses, we can perform the necessary contact lens exams to make sure you receive the right lenses for your needs. Our eye doctor will determine whether you require a specific kind of contact lens (hard vs. soft, etc.) and measure your pupils, irises and corneal contours in detail.
Pre-Operative/Post-Operative Care - Some eye conditions such as cataracts or advanced glaucoma may call for surgery, while elective surgery is also chosen by many individuals who want to correct their nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism without having to wear any kind of lenses. While our eye doctor does not perform surgery, we will be happy to refer you to a trusted specialist in this field. Along the way, we provide both pre-operative care (in the form of tests, evaluations and counseling) and post-operative care (in the form of follow-up eye and vision exams to monitor the progress of your recovery).
