Summer is the time for festivals and outdoor celebrations, and many of them include fireworks as part of the festivities. We're taking this time to educate our patients on the safe use of fireworks, to prevent the eyesight damage that's so common every summer. Many seasonal activities aren't the same without a fireworks demonstration capping off the evening, but they're only fun if they're used safely so no one gets hurt.
It's best to leave fireworks to the professionals whenever possible, but some people still love to put on their own light show during summer celebrations. If fireworks are going to be a part of your summer, follow some common sense rules to help keep your eyes safe.
Our doctors of optometry are concerned about your eyesight, and not just when you come in for a vision examination. We want to make sure you have a safe and happy summer holiday celebration, with no danger to your eyesight. If you have any other questions about fireworks safety, or if you're due for an eye examination, give our office a call. Contact us at 601-485-2020 and we'll schedule an appointment today.
